Personal Solicitation Practicum -- Asking for Money Without Fainting!
DATES: TO BE DETERMINED. STAY TUNED!

The most effective fundraising strategy for nonprofit organizations is personal solicitation - asking for money from individuals, corporations and foundations  that support our mission based organizations. No money, No mission is absolutely true.

Board members, staff and volunteers were not  born knowing how to ask for financial contributions. Like any practice - tennis, yoga, medicine, accounting and others-- asking for money requires understanding fundamental concepts and then --practice, practice, practice. This workshop is designed to cover essential principles and ample time for practical practice. It is recommended that each organization be represented with at least two participants, preferably at least one board member.

Registrants will receive a pre-assignment that relates to their organization's fundraising needs in advance of the workshop.  All participants will have an opportunity to practice and will receive coaching. Action plans will be developed in the workshop.

Meetings are such a critical element of effective organizational success. We all have to attend them on a regular basis. They are a staple of our daily work. However, meetings can be boring, unproductive and seemingly a waste of time. “Meetings from hell” do not have to be the norm.

This practical, interactive workshop will provide the fundamentals of effective facilitation, meeting management and participatory decision making techniques that are necessary to motivate high performing groups.

Janet Boguch, a seasoned professional facilitator, will provide tools, ideas and strategies required of productive meetings. Participants will leave with an action plan and increased confidence. We will cover the core practices of facilitators, the purpose of icebreakers, ways to engage board members, volunteers and/or staff so that they are committed and involved. Material from Death by Meeting, by Patrick Lencioni will be used along with several other valuable resources.
